Healing Arts Massage Therapy

Your First Visit

On your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a brief history sheet that will provide your therapist with relevant information about your past and present health. This information will assist the therapist in providing the treatment best suited to your health and body needs.

We recommend not eating a heavy meal prior to your session.

We use lotions and oils for massage therapy; therefore, we recommend that you wear or bring clothing that you do not mind getting oil on.

When receiving a craniosacral session, please wear loose comfortable clothing without heavy belts and seams. For example please wear sweats or tights rather than jeans.

Please be mindful of others by refraining from wearing perfumes or colognes. Our space is small and there are a number of clients as well as therapists that have allergies to certain scents.

Before, during or after your session, feel free to give your therapist feedback about your session so that your therapist can better understand how you are responding to the treatment.

After your first visit, we recommend you give yourself a break from the stresses at home and work so that your body can continue the healing process from your treatment. Drink plenty of water, relax and take a bath or shower.

For 24 to 48 hours after the treatment, you may experience some muscle tenderness or a reoccurrence of symptoms as your body continues through its healing process. For an information sheet on epsom salts baths, exercises or other guidelines to help your body during this period, speak to your therapist.
