Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a safe and effective healing modality that has been used as a primary and adjunctive treatment for a wide range of conditions for thousands of years.

Modern research has shown that stimulating an acupuncture point causes an increase in production of endorphins and simultaneously activates the immune and endocrine systems.

Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and many healthcare professionals and is also covered in some health care plans. It is utilized to enhance immunity, ease pain, restore optimum health and provide an overall sense of well-being.

A registered acupuncturist conducts an in depth assessment that includes looking at the tongue and feeling the pulse to help determine an accurate diagnosis and systematic treatment plan. The acupuncturist uses stainless steel, disposable needles 1/10th the thickness of a regular hypodermic needle to puncture through the skin. The needles are inserted into specific acu-points along energy pathways or meridians to stimulate the body’s energy -- also known as Qi. Quite often the patient feels very relaxed during the treatment with little discomfort. If a patient does not feel comfortable with needles, other effective non-needle modalities are available.
