Jin Yi

Jin Yi has been in private and collective group practice since 1991. Several years ago, she came from California where she studied at McKinnon Institute of Professional Massage and Bodywork, and at The School of Shiatsu and Massage at Harbin Hot Springs as well as with individual professionals offering various workshops. Her training and experience includes Subtle Touch therapeutic massage, Craniosacral, Deep Tissue, Swedish/Esalen, Reflexology and Asian systems such as Acupressure, Shiatsu and Watsu.

In her sessions, she integrates the various modalities in a body therapy session, utilizing a modality that best encourages a release. For example, Craniosacral Therapy can relieve headaches, facilitate emotional grounding, or release holding patterns; whereas, Deep Tissue massage of the muscles and joints can improve movement.

Jin has practiced Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Yoga for many years and has integrated this knowledge into her body therapy practice helping clients to be aware of their posture and how they move with their bodies. She also uses this knowledge to recommend gentle passive release postures and exercises that help the body to balance and release as well as helping in the prevention of pain.

Jin has worked with clients of all ages and many conditions ... from repetitive stress to prenatal and postnatal discomforts as well as for simply calming the body and mind. Her focus in the sessions is to be fully present with her client, listening and encouraging space with her heart and her hands for the body to respond the best that it can for it’s healing.

Jin is registered with NHPC.
